Narsinghgarh History
Narsinghgarh Travel Blog: The town of Narsinghgarh, located in the Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, boasts a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Founded by Diwan Parasram, it became an important princely state under British rule. The town is famous for the historic Narsinghgarh Fort, a splendid architectural beauty that stands testimony to the royal past of the region. Surrounded by lush greenery and serene landscape, the fort offers a glimpse into the wonderful lifestyle of the erstwhile rulers. Visitors can see the beautiful design of the fort, majestic halls, and panoramic views, making it a must-visit place for history enthusiasts and travelers.
Let me tell you, during the monsoon season, Narsinghgarh turns into a lush paradise. The rain brings out the greenery of the surrounding forests and hills and the lake near the fort fills up with fresh water, creating a picturesque view. The fort looks even more beautiful with a backdrop of dark clouds and occasional mist, adding a mystical aura to the entire landscape. Monsoon is indeed the best time to visit and experience the natural beauty and historical grandeur of Narsinghgarh.
Narsinghgarh Travel Blog: Journey Begins
Hello, the story of my journey started in a very interesting way. It must have been a day or two before the journey, I was watching some reels on Instagram on my smartphone while lying on my bed at night and after a few reels I saw some videos of Narsinghgarh and I was fascinated by watching them. I commented on one of those videos and after watching some other reels, I slept. When I woke up the next day and picked up my phone, my eyes went to the notification on Instagram. A message came from the account on which I had commented. I thanked him and told him my intention to come to Narsinghgarh, and then a positive reply came from there.
I was late in leaving home, so I reached Narsinghgarh at 11:30 and called Srinu (whom I had talked to through messages on Instagram). He asked me to wait as he was busy with some work. I thought, why not meet my other friend who lives in Narsinghgarh. Then I went to meet Lokesh Sharma ji (Loku Bhaiya). I talked to him for some time, enjoyed tea, and started remembering old memories. After some time, Srinu called and said, that I was sending someone to you, I said okay and shared my location.
Narsinghgarh Fort
We reached the path below the fort in some time and started walking towards the fort. The climb was not much but due to the heat, our condition started getting bad. Somehow we reached the gate of the fort and found that the gate was closed. Then Srinu called the guard present at the fort and asked him to open the gate. To enter the fort, everyone has to pay a fee of Rs 20 per person.
As soon as we entered the fort, there was a temple of Lord Ram, where we had darshan and entered the fort. The fort is very magnificent, I would just request the Madhya Pradesh government to pay some attention to the maintenance of the fort. Many parts of the fort are in a dilapidated condition. Even today, there are many remains of old artwork in the fort, which show how beautiful they must have been.
Then we went to the part of the fort where the film Stree was shot, then we clicked photos and took many drone shots. The view of Narsinghgarh city from Narsinghgarh fort is worth seeing.
Jal Mandir
This temple is of Lord Mahadev which is built in the middle of a beautiful pond. We reached there and were mesmerized by the architecture and view of the temple. The light of the setting sun on the temple is hard to describe in words. You can guess it by looking at the picture. It got dark while we were visiting and taking some drone shots.
Then I asked Srinu and Yash (Yash is the boy who came to Loku Bhaiya’s house in the morning to pick me up) about a place to stay. Yash said that if you don’t have any problem then you can stay at my house. At first, I hesitated a bit but then after thinking a bit, I said yes. There Yash introduced me to his family. Everyone treated me like a family member. After some time we went to sleep and I put all my batteries on charge and then after talking for some time, we slept.
The Next Day: Shankh Shyam Ji temple
At 5 am I went to Loku Bhaiya’s house and then we left for Shankh Shyam Ji temple. Shankh Shyam Ji temple is about 20 km from Narsinghgarh. After reaching there we took darshan and took some beautiful drone shots and photos, the temple is very beautiful and grand. Then met Pandit Ji and the caretaker of the temple for some time and then they gave us tea. Their behavior was very simple and polite. Then after some time both of us moved towards our next destination.
ChidiKho: Wildlife Sanctuary of Madhya Pradesh
Our next destination was Chidikhho, Chidikhho is about 10 km from Narsinghgarh which is one of the famous wildlife sanctuaries of Madhya Pradesh where you can get a chance to see many beautiful animals like deer, rabbits, tigers, etc. We were lucky to see only a few deer. We wanted to take a lot of drone shots there but we were not allowed to use the drone. So we did not break the dignity of their rule and took whatever few photos and videos we could.

Two More Destinations In Narsinghgarh
Then we both returned to Narsinghgarh and I dropped Loku Bhaiya at his home and went to Yash’s home and then we explored two more places, both of which are famous temples of Narsinghgarh. At the last temple, we were joined by Srinu too. The first place we visited is known as Kaak Shila Mata Mandir and the second one is also known as Gadhi Sarkar or Hanuman Gadhi Mandir.
And then after taking photos and drone shots of both places, we came down from my last destination which was Hanuman Gadhi Mandir, we chatted for a while, and then I said goodbye and left for my home, and thus my journey ended.
